What NOT to Expect
We’re not a fancy cocktail lounge with smoke and mirrors, and definitely not your typical late-night party spot. No gimmicks, no stuffy dress codes, and zero pretense. Just great drinks, bold food, and an easy going vibe. Here’s what you shouldn’t expect:
1. Staff that doesn’t know the Menu.
2. Watered down cocktails and lukewarm conversations.
3. A dress jacket, full pants or closed shoes for entry.
4. Blinding lights or so dim that you looking for the lamp post.
5. Terrible music played terribly loudly.
6. Walking away grumpy.

At the end of a winding path in Sangolda that seems to lead nowhere until the sign appears, you find Grumps, a haunt that has quickly become Goa’s most unlikely neighbourhood institution. Inside, the energy is immediate but not overwhelming. The bar hums, orders fly, yet your drink lands in minutes and food even faster. Here, staff remember faces, chat across the counter, and make space for solo walk-ins as readily as for groups. It’s part of why Grumps has become that rare thing in Goa a neighbourhood bar where you can show up alone and feel like you belong.
